Dupe Jayesimi, the ace Nigerian actress, received a brand-new car from her colleague Biola Adebayo on Mother’s Day.
The gesture comes a few weeks after Jayesimi opened up about
her personal struggles, including her lack of a vehicle to get to movie
locations.
Jayesimi had previously revealed how she was involved in a
car accident in Ondo, which resulted in the death of her driver. The incident,
she said, led her to sell the car. She said she has been relying on booked
rides or cabs ever since.
“So, I said I did not want to see the car again. It was in Akure where I sold it. Since that time, I have not had a car,” she said.
“I used to book rides. Whenever I do not get a booked ride,
I stand by the roadside to take a cab. I am still haunted by the fear that my
driver died. Since I have been driving myself, I have never had an accident.”
But on Sunday, Adebayo presented her colleague with a blue salon
car, with Jayesimi visibly overwhelmed with emotion. She was also given a
bouquet made up of naira notes.
“We present your car to you. It will not become your casket.
It will not become a liability for you. You will not regret receiving the gift.
The Lord will be your shield. But ensure you do not make enmity with anyone,”
she said.
Jaiyesimi recently opened up about her struggles with
childlessness and failed marriages.
