A member of the House of Representatives from Kaduna North, Bello El-Rufai, has urged the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu to kill all bandits disrupting the activities of farmers in the North.

El-Rufai said eliminating bandits would allow farmers in the North return to their farmlands, a situation that would improve food production.

He made the appeal at the Youth Action Event, titled “Summit of the Future: Our Common Agenda,” organized by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in Abuja.

The lawmaker harped on the impact of insecurity on Nigeria’s rising food prices.

El-Rufai urged the NSA representative at the event to “continue to kill the bandits.”

According to El-Rufai: “Increased food prices have contributed significantly to our high inflation rate.

“Bandits have chased farmers off their farms and as long as they cannot access their farms, food prices will remain high.”

This is coming amid the continued military onslaught against bandits in the North.

Popular and dreaded bandit leader, Bello Turji has been on the run since the military launched attacks to capture or eliminate him.

Amid the onslaught, Turji’s son was killed by troops while the notorious bandit leader remains at large.
