The bill sought the introduction of a six-year single term for the president, governors and local government chairmen, zonal rotation of presidential and governorship seats, as well as holding all elections in one day. But the bill was rejected on Thursday November 21 during plenary. However, Rep. Ikenga Ugochinyere (PDP-Imo) who is leading lawmakers championing the bill said in a statement in Abuja on Friday vowed that the bill would be represented.
