Vigilantes have arrested a suspect, identified as Yahuza Jamilu, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from a mosque at UnguwarShadadi area of Kuje in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

A member of the vigilante, Bala Aliyu, said the incident happened when Muslims were observing Tarawi prayers and the suspect quietly removed a Bajaj motorcycle and tried to zoom off.

He said a man, who was coming to the mosque, saw the suspect and raised an alarm.

According to him, the suspect abandoned the bike and attempted to escape when he was apprehended and handed over to the vigilantes, who got wind of the incident and rushed to the scene.

He said the motorcycle had been handed over to the owner.

Police in Kuje said the incident was not reported.
