Desmond Matthew emerged victorious at the 8th Sovereign Trust Open Golf Tournament, held over the weekend at the Ibadan Golf Club, Onireke, Ibadan.

In the male category of the insurance group, Kunle Akinpelu secured the top spot, further adding to the excitement of the prestigious event.

The three-day tournament, which ran from Friday, March 7, to Sunday, March 9, 2025, attracted over 250 amateur golfers from various golf clubs across the country, showcasing competitive spirit and talent in the sport.

Commending Sovereign Trust Insurance for its dedication to the tournament, Captain of the Ibadan Golf Club, Seyi Alaba, expressed gratitude for the company’s role in elevating the sporting and commercial activities in Ibadan.
