To celebrate the International Women’s Day, the Women of Like Minds Empowerment Initiative (WOLMEI) has given food items to 100 women at the Jahi 2 community in Abuja.

The founder and President of WOLMEI, Dr Mrs Lauretta Achudume, who led the members of the association to the community on Saturday, said they made the donations to put a smile on the faces of the women during their day.

Achudume said: “At Women of Like Minds Empowerment Initiative, we empower women, girls and children. So, as we celebrate the International Women’s Day, we come to the Jahi community to donate food items to 100 families.

“We are so happy seeing joy on their faces. We have donated foodstuffs to them today and if that will help them meet their immediate need for food, we will be glad. So, if we all can come out and put smiles on the faces of more women and people, I feel the nation will be better.”

The Women leader of the Jahi community, Sekinah Shuiabu thanked WOLMEI for the gesture.

She said, ‘’They gave 100 women rice, beans, garri and salt.

We thank WOLMEI; even our mothers are grateful. May God bless all the women who contributed to give us these gifts.”

The WOLMEI was established 13 years ago as a charity organisation and has helped to empower women and girls.
