Former University of Lagos Central Mosque Chief Imam Prof. Murtala Bidmos is dead.

His son, Faisal Bidmos, announced his death on Monday, expressing gratitude to God and praying for his father’s soul.

He said Prof Bidmos died Monday afternoon and will be buried in his hometown, Ayete, Ibarapa North, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The late scholar was a respected religious leader and academic, known for his contributions to Islamic studies and spiritual guidance at UNILAG.

Prof Bidmos was widely respected for sound intellectualism and dedication to Islam and his tireless efforts in advancing charitable causes.

“We beseech Allah (SWT) to grant him maghfirah, overlook his shortcomings, make the questioning in the grave easy for him, illuminate his resting place with divine light, and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus,” the statement read.
