Bandits have abducted eight people, comprising five men and three housewives in Katari, Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
A community leader from the area, who confirmed the incident to our reporter over phone on Sunday, said the incident happened on Thursday, around 11:12pm when some bandits invaded two houses in the area.
He said the bandits, who were wielding AK-47 rifles, invaded two houses located in the outskirts of Katari and whisked away the victims amid sporadic shooting, adding that the bandits escaped with the victims before the arrival of vigilantes.
A member of the vigilante group in the area, simply identified as Aliyu, confirmed the incident, saying “It was at about 11:12pm when we heard gunshots and before the vigilantes could arrive at the place, the bandits had already escaped with five men and three women. “
