The Wakilin Fulani of Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Attahiru Wakili and members of his family including his grandchildren have relocated after he was released from the bandits’ captivity.

Abuja Metro had reported that the Fulani leader, his family members and 37 other villagers, were abducted on February 23, 2025, after bandits invaded Janjala community.

However, they were reportedly rescued by soldiers stationed at Kagarko and Iche villages last Tuesday.

A family member of the Fulani leader, Ahmed Attahiru, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Monday, said the leader and his family members, including his grandchildren, have relocated for safety.

He said he decided to relocate because the attack has worsened his health.

He said, “You know the man is about 81 years old and the attack has worsened his health, so he decided to leave the area for safety.’’

Attahiru said his wives had also relocated to an unknown location outside Kagarko LGA for security reasons, saying the leader may likely return back when the security situation improves in Janjala.

A community leader from the area, also confirmed the relocation of the Wakilin Fulani and his family members.

He said, “On Saturday, one of the family members called to inform that the Wakilin Fulani Janjala and his family members have relocated to another place and that he will only return when the security around Janjala improves.’’
