The Yobe State Police Command has arrested no fewer than six suspects for allegedly killing two police officers at Kolere village in Fune Local Government Area of the state.
DC Operations of the Command, DCP Abdu Abubakar Ozo, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after a routine State Security Council meeting, presided over by the state Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Guban.
Daily Trust had reported how high-profile gang leaders overpowered two police officers, all Deputy Superintendents, leading to their unfortunate deaths.
The police officers were said to have been attempting to arrest them in Fune LGA.
Briefing newsmen, DCP Ozo said five to six suspects that have connections or links to the killing of the two police officers have been arrested, adding that the suspects are in the State CID for further investigation.
He added that the state command had deployed more operatives searching for more of those involved in the killing of the officers.
