All is set for the inaugural Quomodo Swimming Festival, scheduled to take place at Ikoyi Club 1938 on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The highly anticipated interschool team competition will see young swimmers compete across various categories, aiming to win laurels for themselves and their schools.

Akinbulejo Onabolu, Vice Chairman and Games Captain of the Ikoyi Club Swimming Section, assured that preparations are in top gear to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. “We value developmental competitions because they help nurture future stars in swimming, both locally and internationally,” he said.

Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Trish Okereke, revealed that around 25 schools are expected to participate, with approximately 300 swimmers competing in 48 individual events and four relays. “This is the first edition, and the response from schools has been overwhelming. We are excited to provide a platform for young talents to shine,” she added.

Tournament sponsor, Mrs. Adedoyin Segun-Noibi, General Manager of Quomodo Systems Africa, emphasized the company’s commitment to youth development through sports. “We believe sports instill discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. By supporting this event, we aim to create opportunities for young athletes to showcase their abilities and reach their full potential,” she stated.

To align with international best practices, participating swimmers will be granted a one-hour warm-up session before the competition kicks off. Events lined up for the Quomodo Grand Slam include breaststroke, freestyle, individual medley, and backstroke.
