President Bola Tinubu on Monday commissioned several projects executed by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, marking the first anniversary of his administration.

President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, inaugurated the 9 km Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction Road and the 5.5 km Zone 8-Crusher Road.

Other projects commissioned included 350-bed hostels for both males and females at Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), a demonstration farm, two new faculties at CUSTECH, and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) spread across the state.

During the ceremony, Governor Ododo addressed the president and his delegation, emphasising that these projects reflect his commitment to enhancing the well-being of Kogi residents. He noted that these initiatives, completed within his first year in office, were a fulfilment of the promises he made to the people during his campaign.

Following the commissioning, the vice president and his team moved to the Government House for private discussions with local stakeholders.

Later, they proceeded to Muhammadu Buhari Square for the official anniversary celebration.

The vice president arrived in Kogi with APC National Chairman Dr Umar Ganduje and Edo State’s Governor Monday Okpebholo at around noon via Dangote Airstrip in Obajana, where they received a warm welcome.

Governor Ododo, his deputy Joel Oyibo, former Governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, and other government officials were present to welcome the vice president and his entourage.
