The IMD has issued an orange alert for Prayagraj on 16th and 17th January due to rain and fog, coinciding with the Kumbh Mela, which has drawn over 6 crore devotees. A western disturbance may bring rain to hill states and plains, while dense fog and colder temperatures are expected in northern India.
