Skoda Auto has released a teaser video of its Elroq RS, a sportier version of the electric SUV, giving a first glimpse of both its exterior and interior. The Czech carmaker will reveal the EV on April 3, 2025, on its YouTube channel.
RS sub-brand’s signature Hyper Green paint, which we most recently saw on the new Skoda Octavia RS at the Auto Expo, makes the “most dynamic Elroq model” stand out from the standard models of the Skoda EV. In addition to a redesigned front bumper, blacked-out ‘SKODA’ lettermark and roof rails, ORVMs, and RS badging above the front fenders are unique to the Elroq RS.
A coloured strip matching the body colour was also spotted on the aero-optimised alloy wheels, which have a similar design to those seen on the Skoda Vision 7S concept. Regular Elroq models currently on sale overseas can also be had with these wheels, which measure 21 inches. New ‘Skoda Crystal Lighting’ engraving was also seen on the tail-lights.
Apart from ‘RS’ badging on the steering wheel and the sports seats, Skoda did not reveal other details about the Elroq RS’ interior. Like with other Skoda RS cars, the Elroq version may boast a dark headliner and sportier seats. 13-inch central infotainment screen, head-up display, ambient lights, and wireless charging pad will likely be carried over in the upcoming Elroq RS.
While Skoda has not disclosed any details, Skoda may offer the Elroq RS only with the largest 85kWh battery pack (52kWh and 59kWh being the other batteries), just like the Enyaq RS. Since the Enyaq RS shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen ID 3 GTX (a more powerful version of the VW ID 3), it may be run by a 326hp-RWD electric motor. That is slightly short of the 339hp-AWD Enyaq RS. The standard Elroq 85 has a range of over 560km on the WLTP cycle, but this could be less in the RS SUV because of the added performance.
Skoda India is considering launching its first electric vehicle by September 2025. Top contenders happen to be the Skoda Enyaq, Enyaq coupe and Elroq, and there has been no word from the carmaker on bringing the Elroq RS to India yet. A couple of Enyaq and Elroq models have been showcased at Auto Expos, the former was even spotted undergoing testing on our roads. “We will decide between the three for India as per the Indian government’s EV policy,” Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, had earlier told our sister publication Autocar Professional. Currently, no RS model is on sale here, but that will be changed with the launch of the new Octavia RS, which the brand will bring as a full import.
