The Mahindra Thar Roxx is highly popular among Indian buyers, even more than six months after its August 2024 launch. To keep up with the demand, Mahindra ramped up Thar and Thar Roxx production in February, with over 9,000 combined units of both SUVs now rolling off the assembly line every month in a 30:70 split. This has helped reduce waiting periods for most Thar Roxx variants, although delivery times for certain trims have stayed the same or even increased.
Waiting periods for the top-spec Thar Roxx AX7L 4x4 variants – available in diesel-manual and diesel-automatic guises and priced between Rs 21.59 lakh and Rs 23.09 lakh – have dropped to 12 months, a 6-month drop compared to its delivery times in February. However, the base-spec Thar Roxx MX1 – available in petrol-manual and diesel-manual form and priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 13.99 lakh – still commands a waiting period of up to 18 months.
Buyers of the mid-spec MX3 (Rs 14.99 lakh-17.49 lakh), AX3L (Rs 16.99 lakh), MX5 (Rs 16.49 lakh-19.09 lakh) and AX5L (Rs 18.99 lakh-21.09 lakh) trims will have to wait up to 4 months for delivery, while the Thar Roxx AX7L 4x2 (Rs 19.49 lakh-20.99 lakh) and MX5 diesel-manual 4x4 trims will take up to 10 months.

The 3-door model also comes with an entry-level 1.5-litre diesel engine as an option, though only in manual form.
