The Kia Syros has surpassed the 20,000-booking milestone since the company officially began taking pre-orders on January 3. Kia has revealed that most of the Syros buyers have opted for the petrol variants and that the top variants accounted for 46 percent of bookings for the compact SUV. The ex-showroom prices for the Syros range between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 17.80 lakh.
Syros AT variants chosen by 38 percent of buyers
Kia has revealed that 67 percent of the buyers have opted for the turbo-petrol variants of the Syros, with the rest opting for diesel ones. This is unsurprising given that petrol is the more popular choice among buyers in the compact SUV class. Moreover, 38 percent of the buyers have opted for either the petrol-DCT or the diesel-AT variants.
Although Kia has not given the exact split, it claims that 46 percent of buyers have opted for the HTX and above variants, with 18 percent choosing the HTX+(O) variants with optional ADAS features. Aurora Black Pearl and Frost Blue are the most popular exterior colours, accounting for 26 percent and 20 percent of all bookings, respectively.
Kia offers the Syros with either of these two engines: a 120hp, 172Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol or a 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on both units; there’s the option of a 7-speed DCT auto option with the petrol version and a 6-speed torque converter auto with the diesel mill.
The Syros is available in five core trims – HTK, KTK(O), KTK+, HTX and HTX+ – with ADAS optional on the top HTX+ trim. Check out our story on the Syros variants and features for more details about the equipment and engine options for each trim.
