The Kia Syros has surpassed the 20,000-booking milestone since the company officially began taking pre-orders from January 3. Kia has revealed that a majority of buyers have opted for the petrol variants of the Syros, and that the top variants accounted for 46 percent of all bookings. Kia Syros prices range between Rs. 9 lakh and Rs 17.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Syros AT variants opted by 38 percent buyers
Kia has revealed that 67 percent of the buyers have opted for the turbo-petrol variants of the Syros, while remaining 33 percent have opted for diesel. This is unsurprising given that petrol is the more popular choice among buyers in the compact SUV Class. Moreover, 38 percent of the buyers have opted for either the petrol-DCT or the diesel-AT variants.
Although Kia has not given the exact split, the company claims 46 percent buyers have opted for the HTX variants and above, with 18 percent choosing the HTX+(O) variants with optional ADAS features. Aurora Black Pearl and Frost Blue were the most opted colour options, accounting for 26 percent and 20 percent of all bookings, respectively.
The Syros is available with two engine options - 120hp, 172Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on both engine options, with the petrol variant offering a 7-speed DCT auto option while the diesel the diesel gets a 6-speed torque converter auto option.
The Syros is available in five core trims – HTK, KTK(O), KTK+, HTX and HTX+ - with ADAS optional on the top HTX+ trim. Our story on the Syros variants and features further details the equipment and engine options available on each trim.
