The CNG versions of the Renault Kiger, Triber and Kwid were introduced in India today. Renault is offering the CNG option with all its three cars as a retrofitment and a three-year warranty. Notably, only the manual variants can be had with CNG except the turbo and automatic ones. The brand has also homologated these kits to meet all safety and performance standards.
An official source told Autocar India that under Renault's testing, the mileage went up by 1.5 times with the addition of a CNG kit. Note that the official mileage figures of these CNG cars are yet to be revealed. It further added that there was no impact on driving performance. So, we have stated the standard engine specifications and fuel-efficiency as a reference.

Renault's sole SUV offering here, the Kiger shares its 72hp engine with the Triber, however, mileage is slightly up to 19.17kpl. Three drive modes, 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, traction control and four airbags are offered with the car. The Tata Nexon CNG with a turbo petrol engine, starting at Rs 9 lakh, rivals the Kiger.
Automakers like Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Hyundai are offering factory-fitted CNG in their cars, while Honda provides it as a showroom fitment with the Amaze, something that Renault will be doing as well. Also, all Renault India cars are E20 fuel compliant.
