The HTE(O) serves as the new entry point for the Seltos range and commands a premium of Rs 23,000 over the outgoing HTE trim. On the outside, the Seltos HTE(O) has 16-inch steel wheels and LED headlights and tail-lamps, with the latter sporting a connected setup similar to that of the HTK. Cabin features include an 8-inch infotainment screen, a 6-speaker sound system, and illuminated power windows for all doors, among other things. This trim offers the option of a petrol or a diesel engine with a manual gearbox; automatic transmission is off the table.
The HTK(O) trim includes every feature in the HTE(O) trim. Additionally, it has cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, a mood lamp, a smart key with motion detection, and more. On the exterior, it features upgraded 16-inch alloy wheels, a roof rail, a rear wiper and washer and a defogger. Like the Seltos HTE(O), the HTK(O) is only available with a manual gearbox.
The HTK+(O) trim sits in the upper echelons of the Seltos range. It features 17-inch alloy wheels, sequential LED indicators in the headlights, LED fog lamps, auto-fold rearview mirrors, a gloss black grille and a chrome beltline. Inside, it offers an electronic handbrake (only for IVT variants), parcel tray, artificial leather-upholstered gear knob, and more. Depending on the engine, the HTK+(O) trim is available in manual, IVT and torque converter transmissions.
Kia offers a choice of three engines for the Seltos; one is a diesel, and two are petrol. The 1.5-litre turbo-diesel mill makes 116hp and 250Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter auto gearbox. Then, there’s the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, making 115hp and 144Nm; it can be had with a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The punchier 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit is good for 160hp and 253Nm and comes with a 6-speed clutchless manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
All prices are ex-showroom.
