Kia India, which kicked off sales in August 2019 as a virtually unknown brand in the domestic market at the time, has in CY2024 maintained its 8 percent contribution to global sales. During the last year, Kia India, which sold 2,45,000 units, contributed 7.93 percent to Kia Corporation’s global sales of 30.8 lakh units, slightly down on the 8.25 percent it had accounted for in CY2023.

Since its market entry in August 2019 with a single product, Kia India is now a formidable player in India’s passenger vehicle market with its products – the Seltos midsize SUV, Sonet compact SUV, Carens and Carnival MPVs and the EV6 EV. In fact, the Seltos accounts for 46.5 percent of total Kia India sales since 2019, while the more recently launched Sonet currently has a 34.8 percent share.

  1. Kia Seltos sales have crossed 5.2 lakh units since August 2019
  2. Kia India despatched over 1 lakh Sonets in the calender year 2024
  3. Kia Carens sales approaching 2 lakh mark
