Honda CBR650R price and CB650R launched in India

A day after we reported that Honda is planning on relaunching the CBR650R and CB650R in India, the company has now done so. The CB650R is priced at Rs 9.20 lakh, while the CBR650R commands Rs 9.99 lakh.

  1. CBR650R, CB650R deliveries begin in February
  2. 649cc, 4-cyl motor makes 95hp, 63Nm of torque
  3. Both bikes available in two colours - red and black

Both bikes are powered by the same 649cc, inline-four screamer that makes 95hp and 63Nm of torque, the same as the European bikes. Earlier, Honda had reduced the power output to 87hp likely so that the engine could cope better with Indian fuel. The rest of the mechanicals are also carried over but Honda has tweaked the design of both bikes for 2025, especially noticeable is the sharper tail section. And the bikes that have come to India are not equipped with the E-Clutch.

The main feature addition is the new 5-inch TFT display on both the Honda 650s which brings in Bluetooth connectivity via Honda’s RoadSync App. Two colour options are available on both the CB and the CBR - the trademark Honda red and a muted matte black.

At Rs 9.20 lakh, the CB650R sits head and shoulders above its direct rival, the Triumph Trident 660 (Rs 8.10 lakh) and very close to the larger, more powerful Kawasaki Z900 (Rs 9.38 lakh). When it comes to the Rs 9.99 lakh CBR650R, the fully-faired middleweight Honda will lock horns with the Rs 9.72 lakh Triumph Daytona 660 and the Rs 9.25 lakh Suzuki GSX-8R. In fact, the CBR is just Rs 18,000 less than the much more powerful and feature-laden Triumph Street Triple R. Deliveries for both the Honda 650s will begin in February.

Honda has also announced that the customers who have pre-booked the NX500 adventure bike will finally receive their bikes, when deliveries recommence this month.
