Citroen India has announced longer standard warranty for its range of petrol and diesel-powered cars and SUVs, which currently consists of the C3 hatchback, Basalt coupe-SUV, Aircross SUV, and C5 Aircross SUV. The French brand used to offer a 2-year/40,000km warranty as standard, but will now have a 3-year/1 lakh km.
This new warranty does not apply to the Citroen eC3 hatchback. The company’s only EV gets a 3-year/1.25 lakh km warranty, along with a 7-year/1.4 lakh km warranty on the battery (3-year/1.5 lakh km for commercial use) and a 5-year/1 lakh km warranty on the e-motor (3-year/1.5 lakh km for commercial use).
With the new standard warranty package, Citroen joins the likes of Renault and Maruti, which have announced similarly extended durations for thier models. Tata and Hyundai are also among the brands to offer a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty as standard across their respective portfolios.
Interestingly, discounts on Citroen models such as the Basalt, C3, eC3 and Aircross, continue to be the same as the year-end discounts. The Basalt gets up to Rs 80,000 off, while the Aircross and C3 have benefits to the tune of 1.75 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.
