Land Rover Defender V8: what’s new?

So far, the V8 engine on the Defender was only available in a fully loaded variant. Now, Land Rover is offering this engine on two trims in the Defender lineup – X-Dynamic HSE and X. Producing 420hp and 610Nm of torque, the 5.0-litre V8 continues to be offered across all three body styles – 90, 110 and 130. Land Rover, however, hasn’t revealed the full price list of the Defender V8. The Defender V8 gets the Terrain Response system and electronic air suspension as standard fitment, and rides on 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres.

The Defender also gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine that’s available only in the 110 body style in X-Dynamic HSE trim. The 3.0-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, is offered across all three body styles and in three trims: X-Dynamic HSE, X, and Sedona Edition.

Land Rover Defender: new features

The other most notable update is that the Defender 130 variant now gets new captain chairs for the second row. As standard, the Defender 130 is available as an 8-seater with a 2+3+3 configuration. The new 7-seater configuration not only improves second-row comfort, but also eases access to the third row. It also gets ventilation function and winged headrests.

Other features of note include 14-way powered, heated and cooled front seats with memory function, 11.4-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, configurable ambient lighting, 360-degree camera and a panoramic sunroof. One can also option a Meridian Sound System, front center console refrigerator compartment and soft close tail gate, along with several other packages with bundled features like the Cold Climate, Advanced Off-Road, and Family Comfort Packs.
