The third-generation Skoda Superb, reintroduced in India in April 2023, is currently available at hefty year-end discounts in select cities. Skoda India brought this sedan in April 2024 as a full import, but the imported units were all manufactured in 2023. Priced at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom), Skoda had announced that only 100 units of the imported Superb would be available for sale. While this seems like a limited number, some units remain unsold.
While Skoda India claims that the third-gen Superb has been sold out at their end, some dealers still have stock of the car, which is being liquidated at discounts ranging from Rs 15-18 lakh off the Rs 54 lakh ex-showroom price. We even found some unregistered Skoda Superb units for sale at multi-brand dealerships in north and central India. Out of the total 100 units imported, around 20-25 unsold cars are still available with such benefits across the country.
The locally assembled third-gen Superb was discontinued in April 2023. It was priced at around Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom) when Skoda India decided to pull the plug on the car, thanks to the BS6 Stage 2 emission norms.
With a discount of around Rs 18 lakh, the price of a fully imported Superb becomes close to that of the locally assembled model. The CBU Superb also gets Skoda’s dynamic chassis control, active tyre pressure monitors, nine airbags, and the bigger 9-inch Columbus Infotainment system – features that were not available in the locally assembled car.
At around Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom) and approximately Rs 38 lakh on the road in most locations, the fully imported Superb with added features is a good deal overall. However, buyers will have to factor in the 2023 manufacturing year, which means the vehicle will be considered two years old once 2025 begins.
