KTM 390 Adventure India launch, 390 Enduro expected price in India

We’ve already reported that KTM will be revealing its India-specific line-up of bikes at IBW 2024 on December 6. We can now share exclusive details on the company’s launch plans for these bikes.

  1. 390 Adventure and 390 Enduro to launch together
  2. 390 Adventure will be available in two variants - S and X
  3. 390 SMC R launch later in 2025

KTM 390 Adventure, Enduro, SMC R launch timeline

KTM has developed two versions of the 390 Adventure for the Indian market and the differences between them are quite significant. As is the case with the current model, the new 390 Adventure X will be the lowest priced option and it will run on alloy wheels -19-inches at the front and 17-inches at the back.

However, the second 390 ADV for our market - the 390 Adventure S - is likely to come with bigger 21-inch/18-inch spoked wheels this time around. What’s more exciting is that KTM is working on offering tubeless spoked wheels on the 390 Adventure S, although this is not yet confirmed.

What we know about the 390 Adventure so far is that the base model will have an approachable seat height of around 820mm, but that number is likely to go up on the S. These bikes will be powered by the same engine as the new-gen 390 Duke.

Both these 390 Adventure versions will launch in January 2025 and joining them will be the new KTM 390 Enduro R. This is the first Enduro on the 390 platform and it will be the offering for those who want maximum off-road capability. The 390 Enduro will have minimal dirt-bike style bodywork, a long flat seat and long travel suspension. Full specifications will be revealed at IBW.

As for the 390 SMC R, we are given to understand that KTM will also launch this bike in India, but at a later date in 2025. This will be the first locally manufactured supermoto to be sold in India and it’ll be interesting to see if the bike sold here is the same as the one that goes overseas. Little is known about the 390 SMC R so far, except for the fact that it will have reduced suspension travel compared with the 390 Enduro R.

The 390 SMC R will run on 17-inch wheels but whether these are spoked rims or alloys is not yet clear. KTM’s display at EICMA showcased a 390 SMC R on spoked wheels while the 125 SMC R (which is mostly identical except for the smaller engine) was on alloys.

Finally, that leaves us with the topic of the range-topping 390 Adventure R. This bike is not immediately being considered for an India launch thanks to its tall 885mm seat height and the fact that it will be quite expensive. However, it is possible that the 390 Adventure R will also be launched in India at a later date if there is demand for it.
