Toyota’s popular MPV, the Innova Hycross, has crossed the one lakh unit sales mark. The MPV went on sale in November 2022 in the Indian market and was introduced to be sold alongside the Innova Crysta. Monthly sales of the Innova Hycross have remained consistent at around the 4,000-unit mark since its launch.
The Hycross was introduced as a more refined and fuel-efficient option for private buyers opting for the Innova Crysta. The MPV, however, has been a popular choice, not just for private buyers but also for fleet operators, thanks to its frugal petrol-hybrid powertrain. Higher variants of the Hycross come with more features and technology than the Crysta and are comparatively more sought after, with waiting periods even hitting as high as one year not too long ago. Currently, higher variants of the Innova Hycross can be delivered in under eight months.
Non-hybrid variants of the Hycross come with a 172hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to an automatic gearbox, while the higher variants feature an 184hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine with strong hybrid technology. Prices for the Innova Hycross start at Rs 19.77 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level pure petrol line-up and Rs 30.98 lakh for the petrol-hybrid range.
