Udupi: MLA Yashpal Suvarna has submitted a request to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, urging the allocation of special grants for developmental projects in the Udupi constituency and seeking permission for the traditional Tulu Nadu religious rituals in the upcoming State Budget.

MLA Yashpal Suvarna has emphasized the need for special financial allocations to support various projects in Udupi, including:
Education Sector: Infrastructure development in Udupi district schools, which have consistently excelled academically.
Healthcare: An additional ₹48.36 crore for the operationalization of the new district hospital and funds for the maintenance of maternal and child hospitals.
Fisheries: Diesel subsidies, kerosene supply for traditional boats, port development, dredging operations, and the introduction of a sea ambulance.
Support for Fishermen: Extending loan facilities to the fishermen community, similar to those provided to farmers.
Coastal Erosion: Implementing permanent solutions for coastal erosion.
Narayana Guru Development Corporation: Reserving ₹500 crore for its initiatives.
Disaster Relief: Allocating ₹25 crore for natural disaster relief and up to ₹5 lakh in compensation for homes damaged by heavy rains.
Agriculture & Infrastructure: Establishing an agriculture college in Brahmavar, expanding government bus services, and constructing a sports complex.
Tourism & Healthcare: A tourist bungalow in Brahmavar, the establishment of a government medical college, and ₹25 crore for the Paryaya Mahotsava.
Urban Development: Development of Mannapalla Lake, funding for Kambala sports, the sanctioning of an additional sub-divisional office in Udupi, and the implementation of a separate sand policy for coastal Karnataka to resolve the region’s sand shortage issues.
CM Assures Support for Tulu Nadu Religious Rituals
MLA Yashpal Suvarna also brought to the Chief Minister’s attention the strict regulations imposed by the district administration on Tulu Nadu’s traditional religious ceremonies, including Kambala, Yakshagana, Nemotsava, Nagamandala, and Daivaradhane (Spirit Worship). He specifically highlighted restrictions on Kola performances involving symbolic blood offerings, which have caused inconvenience to religious practitioners.
