In light of growing concerns over violence, slaughter, and attacks on cows, Pejawar Mathadhipathi Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji has called for a week-long campaign from January 23 to 29 to promote cow protection. The initiative involves the recitation of one crore Vishnu Sahasranama or Shiva Panchakshari Japa, with support pouring in from various mathas across the country.

The inaugural ceremony of this special campaign was conducted by Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Sri Putthige Matha at the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha. The campaign will include daily Vishnu Sahasranama recitations, Shiva Panchakshari chants, and related homas, while women devotees will engage in Geeta parayana (recitation).

Support from several mathas:
The Pejawar Math has announced that prominent mathas, including the Udupi Ashta Mathas, Mantralaya Raghavendra Swamy Math, Uttaradi Math, Subrahmanya Math, Sri Ramachandrapura Math, Adichunchanagiri Math, Gurupura Math, Arya Idiga Samsthan, Vyasaraja Math, Sripadaraja Math, Kanva Math, Kudli Shankara Math, Chitrapur Math, Bhandarkeri Math, Edatore Math, Anegundi Math, Bheemankatte Math, and Sri Samsthana Gaudapadacharya Kaivalya Math, have pledged their full support.

Expressing grave concern over the cruelty towards cows, Srimad Samyamindra Theertha Swamiji of Sri Kashi Math Samsthan stated that the upcoming Vishnu Sahasranama Yajna and collective recitation on January 25, in Mangaluru, will also include prayers dedicated to cow protection. The event marks the birth centenary of his guru, Sri Sudhindra Theertha Swamiji.
