Koppal: Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi has hit out at the BJP for expressing outrage over the comparison of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi with Kittur Rani Chennamma.
Speaking to the media in Koppal, the minister questioned the BJP’s reaction, stating, “What is wrong in comparing Priyanka Gandhi to Rani Chennamma? BJP leaders often compare Prime Minister Modi to whoever they like, but when we draw parallels between Priyanka Gandhi and Rani Chennamma, they take offense.”
“The Gandhi family has made significant sacrifices for this country. Priyanka Gandhi has always spoken out against Modi’s mistakes and continues to do so. The Gandhi family has consistently put the nation first,” he added.
Commenting on Jain Muni’s statement supporting D.K. Shivakumar as the next Chief Minister, Tangadagi clarified, “The High Command has instructed us not to discuss party or CM-related matters publicly. Any decision regarding a change in the Chief Minister will be made by the High Command, and we have no information on this.”
He also addressed reports about ministers meeting over tea and meals. “There is nothing wrong with such gatherings, but if they are held for other motives, it is inappropriate. The AICC has issued clear guidelines on this,” Tangadagi added.
