Bengaluru: The Department of Education has announced a one-time grant for mid-day meal cooks who retired on or after March 31, 2022, upon reaching the age of 60.

The directive, issued by the Department Commissioner Dr. Trilok Chandra, states that cooks who have served for 5 to 15 years will receive Rs 30,000, and those with over 15 years of service will receive Rs 40,000 as a one-time grant.

The decision mandates a three-member committee at the district level, comprising the CEO, DDPI, and PM Poshan Education Officer, to review and approve the disbursement.
