Udupi’s Sri Krishna Math is all set to celebrate the auspicious festival of Makar Sankranti today, January 14, under the guidance of Paryaya Sri Puthige Math’s Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji.
The festivities will commence at 4:00 PM with the inauguration of the Krishna Geetaanugraha Mantapa at the Geethamandira. John Mullahy, a Member of Parliament from Victoria, Australia, will be the chief guest. Notable dignitaries, including Jayaprakash Chaturvedi from the CBSE Affiliation Unit in New Delhi, are also expected to grace the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, a grand procession with three chariots will take place in the evening, officially marking the start of the annual Brahmarathotsava.
The week-long Sapthotsava, which commenced on January 9, will conclude on January 15 with a Churnotsava ceremony in the morning. Dr. Pundarik Goswami from Vrindavan’s Shri Radha Raman Mandir, representing the Gaudiya Madhva tradition, will be present during the concluding rituals.
