Puttur: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao announced the success of the Home Health Scheme launched in Kolar district and stated that the initiative will soon be expanded across Karnataka.

Addressing presspersons after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various development projects in the taluk, the minister noted the rising cases of hypertension and diabetes, which often lead to other severe health issues.

Under the scheme, health checks are conducted door-to-door, enabling early detection and prevention of health problems.

“The pilot initiative in Kolar has shown promising results, and extending this model statewide will be instrumental in improving public health,” he said.

New government hospitals in six taluks

The minister also revealed plans to construct new taluk government hospitals in six locations, including constituencies represented by four Congress MLAs and two BJP MLAs. He emphasized that the government allocates resources based on necessity, not political affiliation.

Criticism of BJP’s response to CT Ravi’s remarks

Minister Gundu Rao strongly condemned BJP MLC CT Ravi’s objectionable remarks against a minister, criticizing the BJP for defending the statements.

“It is appalling and unacceptable. This incident occurred in the presence of several public representatives, and action must be taken against it,” he asserted.

He also called on the BJP and Sangh Parivar to clarify their silence on Ravi’s controversial remarks, particularly given their frequent speeches on religion and women’s rights. The event was attended by MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, Block Congress President Krishna Prasad Alva, and other dignitaries.
