In a remarkable incident that is being hailed as a divine miracle, a mute boy from Puttur, Prasanna, began speaking after Ayyappa mala (Wearing the Mala denotes the onset of the ‘Vrutham’).
Prasanna, a resident of Samettadka in the Dakshina Kannada district, was unable to speak until a year ago. However, after donning the Ayyappa mala and observing a strict 48-day vow, he visited the renowned Sabarimala temple, where the Lord Ayyappa’s darshan is offered to devotees. Upon his return, Prasanna began to speak, which has left many in awe, with locals attributing it to the divine intervention of Lord Ayyappa.
Before wearing the mala, Prasanna communicated only through gestures and was unable to speak a single word. But after his journey to Sabarimala, where he trekked for nearly 48 miles through dense forests, he not only began speaking but also started calling out to Lord Ayyappa, acknowledging the miraculous nature of the event.
Now, Prasanna, who is once again preparing to wear the Ayyappa mala and embark on another journey to Sabarimala, is a living testament to the power of Lord Ayyappa’s grace. Locals and Ayyappa devotees believe that this transformation is an example of the Lord’s divine blessings.
Prasanna, a second-year Civil Diploma student at Mahalingeshwara ITI in Puttur, is now able to speak clearly, a drastic change from his previous condition. Senior Ayyappa devotees have expressed their belief that Lord Ayyappa’s mercy and divine grace have worked wonders in transforming his life.
