MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta infrormed that the central government has released a total grant of Rs. 25.11 crores to Dakshina Kannada district under the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PMABHIM), out of which Rs. 24 crores will be allocated for the construction of a Critical Care Unit building at Wenlock Hospital

Under this scheme, Rs. 1.11 crores have been allocated for the construction of the District Integrated Public Health Lab (IPHL) building on the second floor of Wenlock District Hospital’s Trauma Care Center.

The tender process for these projects has already been completed, and the foundation stone will be laid soon, with construction set to begin, said Chowta.

The BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released this grant to further enhance the healthcare infrastructure available at the government level in Dakshina Kannada. In a press statement Chowta expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister JP Nadda for their support.
