A low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, leading to a Level 1 Cyclone Alert (Distant Cautionary Signal) being issued for nine ports, including Chennai, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ennore, Kattupalli, Puducherry, Karaikal, Pamban, and Thoothukudi.
