Ahmedabad: An SUV driver tried to run over a cop in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The incident, which took place near Delhi Darwaza, was captured on CCTV and soon its video went viral on social media. The driver managed to escape in his red-coloured Mahindra Thar.
The vehicle entered a highly congested area which was restricted for vehicles, reported The Time of India quoting eyewitnesses. As the police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed and attempted to mow down the traffic cop.
In the video, it could also be seen that the SUV hit several other vehicles, including an autorickshaw. The visuals show the man recklessly driving through streets at a high speed. It led to panic among pedestrians. As per the report, the man also hit several vehicles in the Delhi Darwaza area.
Fortunately, there are no reports of any injuries in the incident. However, the driver managed to escape. However, he was arrested later by the Ahmedabad Police.

Vadodara Car Crash:
The incident took place days after a 20-year-old law student, Dakshit Chaurasia, rammed a car into two-wheelers, resulting in the death of one woman in Gujarat's Vadodara incident. The incident took place in the wee hours of March 14. near Muktanand crossroads in the Karelibaug area following which Chaurasia was arrested. A video of the incidents also went viral on social media. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle took a sharp turn, which caused it to hit the two-wheeler. The CCTV footage shows that the car was at high speed.
In the video, Chaurasia was apparently drunk as he was seen behaving erratically, shouting "another round, another round”, then a girl’s name, “Nikita, Nikita, Nikita Meri”, before suddenly chanting “Om Namah Shivay”.
The 20-year-old law student blamed a pothole for the accident.
