Bollywood actress Esha Deol recently opened up about how she was linked to a lot of her co-stars during her initial years in the Hindi film industry. Esha, who is all set to make her big screen comeback after 14 years with the film Tumko Meri Kasam, said that because she starred in several films with actor Ajay Devgn during the peak of her career, she was also rumoured to be dating him.

In an interview with The Quint, Esha admitted that while some rumours may have had truth to them, many were completely fabricated.

She said, "I was linked to a lot of my co-stars back then. Some may be true, but many were not. They were even trying to link me up with Ajay Devgn."

However, she clarified that her bond with Ajay was always one of mutual admiration and respect. "I share a very beautiful and different bond with Ajay. It is filled with respect, love, and admiration for each other. That was so weird," she added, recalling the speculation that made headlines at the time.

Esha and Ajay worked together in multiple films, including Yuva, Main Aisa Hi Hoon, and Cash, which may have contributed to the gossip. In 2022, they also reunited for a web series titled Rudra: The Edge of Darkness.

Opening up about the reason behind these rumours, Esha said, "There were a lot of stories cooked up. Maybe because we were doing a lot of films together at that time."

Esha, the daughter of veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, made her Bollywood debut in 2002 with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. Despite receiving praises, her initial films failed to make a lasting impact.

Over the years, Esha starred in a mix of commercial and offbeat films, with some gaining attention while others faded into obscurity. Movies like Dhoom gave her mainstream recognition, but she couldn't capitalise on its success with consistent box office hits. After a string of underwhelming performances, she stepped away from mainstream cinema. In recent years, Esha made occasional appearances in digital projects and short films.
