One of the most popular Pakistani actors, Hania Aamir, who has a massive fan base in India as well, wished her fans a happy Holi on the festival of colours, and while at it, she shared a slew of photos wearing a bindi. This did not go down well with the people of her country who slammed the actress for disrespecting Islam.
On Friday, Hania took to her Instagram to share a series of photos, in which she can be seen wearing a tiny bindi while stepping out in Glasgow, UK, and enjoying with her friends. Along with the photos, she wrote, "A wise man once spit facts; hear no evil, see no evil so I speak no evil. Also Happy Holi to everyone celebrating! (sic)."
As soon as she shared the post, her Indian fans showered her with love, while her Pakistani followers flooded her comments section with equal amount of hate. While some shamed her for being a Muslim and wearing a bindi, others claimed that she was trying to impress her Indian fans and make her way into Bollywood.
"She is doing this to gain much popularity from Indian audience (sic)," a user commented, while another wrote, "You can convert to Hinduism. You will be loved in Bollywood if you do so (sic)." "Shame on you! Atleast ramazan mai to sudhar jao, puray saal to tm log wse bhi hindu bane he rhty ho behayai krty ho (sic)," a Pakistani netizen stated.
On the other hand, some people defended her stating, "Nothing disgusts me more than seeing such illiterate comments on a normal post (sic)." Another user wrote, "Some things are above religion, it it's called humanity for those spreading hate here (sic)."
Hania seems to be unfazed by the backlash over her post and she has not reacted to the hate yet.
On the work front, Hania was last seen in the Pakistani drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, alongside Fahadh Mustafa, and it became one of the most streamed shows in the neighbouring country. And not just there, but in India too, it became one of the highest watched Pakistani show.
Rumours were rife recently that Hania is set to collaborate with Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh for his next. However, not much has been revealed about the project yet.
