Chennai Super Kings former captain MS Dhoni once again showed that age is just a number as he prepares for what could possibly be his final IPL season. During CSK’s practice session on Tuesday, Dhoni brought his power-hitting skills on the field by smashing a massive six-off Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana.
Facing a yorker-length delivery, Dhoni executed his iconic helicopter shot, sending the ball flying straight over the bowler’s head and beyond the boundary at the MS Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

At 43, Dhoni continues to impress with his batting strength and sharp reflexes. Retained by CSK for ₹4 crore ahead of IPL 2025, he remains a crucial part of the team. Speculation is high that this could be Dhoni’s final IPL season, especially after he was seen wearing a T-shirt with "One last time" written in Morse code. However, the five-time IPL-winning captain has yet to confirm his retirement plans.
Dhoni has previously mentioned that staying fit for the IPL requires him to train for 6-8 months every year. Despite retiring from international cricket, he always joins CSK’s pre-season camp well in advance to prepare himself for the tournament.
