Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three people, including a minor boy, were caught while they were carrying firearms in Khajrana area, police said on Tuesday.

Two firearms and live cartridges were recovered from their possession. Khajrana police station in-charge Manoj Singh Sendhav said that during a checking drive, three people on a scooter were stopped near Star Square. While searching, a country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from a person and another man was carrying a firearm with cartridges.

They were arrested and their scooter was also recovered from them. The accused were identified as Vinayak Batham of Chhatripura and Raj Tomar of Imli Bazar area of the city.

They along with their minor friend were roaming in the area with firearms. They are being questioned for their source of firearms and for their motive to keep them illegally.

A case has been registered against the two adult suspects under relevant sections of the Arms Act, while legal proceedings for the minor are being handled separately. The police have intensified their surveillance in the area to curb the illegal possession and trade of firearms.
