Congress MP Imran Masood demanded in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that the Saharanpur railway station be renamed after a Hindu goddess.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Imran said, "Saharanpur is a historic city, it is the abode of Maa Shakumbhari Devi. I request that Saharanpur railway station be renamed after Maa Shakumbhari Devi."

Earlier today, speaking on Nagpur violence, the Congress MP held BJP-ruled state government for the violent clashes.

Speaking to the news agency PTI in Delhi, Masood said, "BJP people always run away from responsibility, they are in the government, then how Opposition is responsible. It is your failure. I want to ask them not to spread the hatred in society. Country will only run through love. Maharashtra is a good state, which gives economic direction to the country. If the people are migrating from there and farmers are hassled, then focus should be on them. The action should be against the persons responsible for violence irrespective of their religion, caste."
