Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress MLAs on Monday submitted a memorandum to Lokayukta seeking an inquiry into the alleged benami property of state food and civil supplies minister Govind Singh Rajput.
“Former transport constable Saurabh Sharma is just a puppet, real kingpin is the then transport minister Rajput,” the MLAs stated in the memorandum, which they submitted to Lokayukta Satyendra Kumar Singh.
The MLAs were led by Leader of opposition in state Assembly Umang Singhar. The state Congress unit has mounted attack on state government with regard to Saurabh Sharma case. The Congress leaders said the Rajput indulged in corruption and purchased hundreds of acres of land in his name, wife's name, son's name, relatives' name and other people's names through illegal transactions.
Rajput purchased land in the name of his relatives
They demanded that purchase of land worth Rs 500 crore should be investigated. Besides, Rajput purchased land in the name of his brothers-in-law, mother in-law, his brothers and relatives in Sagar district and Damoh district.
The cost of land is approximately Rs 200 crore. The Rajput had also purchased the benami property in the name of his friend Kamlesh Baghel and his wife Pratibha Singh. They had purchased 100 acers of land worth Rs 600 crore belonging to Sahara group.
The three, minister, wife of a transport official Viresh Kumar Tumram and Sanjay Dande had purchased three flats in Defence Colony in New Delhi. “The cost of the flats has been shown Rs 2 crore and 3 crore though the actual cost of flats are Rs 12 crore and 15 crore,” Congress leaders stated in the memorandum.
