The raucous crowd at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru couldn't help but chant 'ABD ABD' during the RCB Unbox event held on March 17, Monday. In a video surfaced on the social media platform of X, the spectators were constantly chanting 'ABD ABD' as they sorely missed the presence of the legendary batter.

De Villiers enjoys a massive fanbase in India due to his wide range of strokes and crafting some of the most memorable innings in Bengaluru. Having joined the franchise in 2011, the right-handed batter had amassed 4522 runs in 157 matches at 41.10 with two centuries. Kohli and De Villiers especially established themselves as one of the dangerous partnerships when the latter was still playing in the IPL.

The pair holds the record for the highest partnership for any wicket in IPL history when they put on 229 against the Gujarat Lions in Bengaluru in 2016.

"I thought this guy is a bit arrogant" - AB de Villiers on Virat Kohli

In a recent video uploaded by Star Sports on social media, De Villiers recalled his first impression of Kohli and stated:

"To start off, I thought Virat was like, just watching him on TV, I thought this guy is a bit arrogant. I don't know about him. But once I got to play with him, I realised that he's a wonderful human being and an even better cricket player."

The Royal Challengers will be in action against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 22 at the Eden Gardens.
