US-based filmmaker Adam Ellick came to India a few days ago. He took to Instagram to share a video in which we can see Indian travellers getting up from their seats as soon as the flight lands and while there’s still announcement going on to fasten the seat belts. He shared the video and captioned it as, “Classic landing in India.” The filmmaker also posted captions on the video that what exactly was happening at that time.

The video started with the caption, “The textbook landing in India for the first time.” He further wrote, “Woman: please fasten your seatbelts and remain seated.” He then wrote, “We are moving on runway.”

Further he captioned, “Woman: Please remain seated and buckle up (More frustration). No, it didn’t end here, he wrote, “Magic male voice.” Check out the video below…

The video has of course sparked a debate on social media. While some netizens are not happy with the behaviour of people, some have also stated that these things happen in the US.

A netizen wrote, “Have been to the US 13 times and have always found Americans doing the same atleast 8 to 10 times so please let's not generalise a single incident.” Another Instagram user commented, “Lack of civic sense, selfishness, this country is filled with such legends.”

A woman Instagram user also marked that how no one listened to the female, but as soon as a male did the announcement, everyone got seated. She wrote, “Hard to ignore the fact that the magic male voice was immediately successful while multiple requests in the female voice went completely unheard. Being an Indian woman, I find this very unsettling.”

Adam is currently in Rajasthan and it looks like he is in India for a vacation. His Instagram story is filled with pictures from Pushkar and Ajmer. He is a correspondent and a filmmaker, and in 2009, he had filmed a documentary on Malala Yousafzai.
