Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal has received a lion’s share for strengthening its infrastructure in Budget 2025. The government has announced the construction of three flyovers as part of the budget. The budget also provides provisions for constructing roads in the city.

A four-lane flyover at Vyapam Chowraha Link Road No. 1 will be constructed at a cost of Rs 53 crore. This flyover will ease traffic on the Saurya Smarak-Shivaji Nagar stretch. The second flyover will be constructed at Funda on the Bhopal-Indore road at a cost of Rs 37 crore. A sum of Rs 48 crore will be allocated for the construction of a flyover at Sukhi Sewania on the Bhopal-Vidisha Road.

Moreover, road construction and widening projects have been approved in the budget. These include the widening of Chair Imli Road, Swarn Jyanti-Eco-Akriti City, Virasha Height-Bawadia Chowraha, Bhopal-Talkies to Peer Gate, Central Library-Itwara-Budwara, Arvind Vihar Setu-Bag Mugalia, and Housing Board Colony-Katra Hills, among others. A major thrust has been placed on boosting industry, investments, MSMEs, and startups. The budget focuses on infrastructure, road construction, highways, and smart city projects.

The maximum allocation, 17% of the budget, is dedicated to infrastructure, anticipating a 31% growth in this sector. The budget also proposes 500 Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) and Flyover Bridges (FOBs). Furthermore, 39 new industrial areas will be developed on 14,500 acres of land across Madhya Pradesh. Proposals include 3,500 kilometers of roads and 70 bridges.
