Yuzvendra Chahal recently humorously mimicked Pakistan's captain Mohammad Rizwan during Punjab Kings (PBKS) training session ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In a video shared on PBKS' social media, the leg-spinner hilariously mimicked Rizwan’s famous phrase, “Oh yes, it’s a two.” during a practice session. He also playfully teased teammate Shashank Singh while approaching the crease, saying, “Darr gaye kya? (Are you scared of me?)” before repeating Mohammad Rizwan’s iconic dialogue.
Yuzvendra Chahal recently grabbed lot of headlines in Champions Trophy final when he was spotted with RJ Mahvash. There are rumours that Yuzvendra Chahal is dating Mahvash, but she has denied such reports previously and Yuzvendra Chahal also seem keen to avoid such questions.
Chahal eyes India comeback through Punjab Kings
Yuzvendra Chahal, who was snapped up by Punjab Kings for a staggering ₹18 crore in the IPL 2025 mega-auction had a solid IPL 2024 season, picking up 18 wickets in 15 matches, but Rajasthan Royals chose not to retain him ahead of the mega-auction. This led to his entry into the bidding war, where Punjab Kings secured him for a record-breaking amount.
The leg-spinner’s international career has seen a rough patch since August 2023, when he last played for India in a T20I series against the West Indies. Although he was part of India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, he didn’t get a single game. Determined to prove himself, Chahal has been grinding in domestic cricket, where he picked up 10 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at an impressive strike rate of 15.00.
With a fresh start at PBKS, the 34-year-old will be keen to make an impact and lead their spin attack. Punjab Kings, one of the franchises yet to win an IPL title, will be hoping that Chahal’s experience and wicket-taking ability can help them change their fortunes in the 2025 season.
