Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor looked back on her journey with Roohi as the film marked its fourth anniversary on Tuesday (March 11). She shared behind-the-scenes details of shooting her first solo dance number, Nadiyon Paar, and also recalled the nervous excitement and challenges she faced.
Janhvi posted a series of glamourous pictures of herself and reminisced about being a 'kid' at the time, struggling to keep her eyes open under harsh lights.
She revealed that she rehearsed for Nadiyon Paar only three days while juggling the shoot of Goodluck Jerry. The song was filmed in just seven hours after an intense schedule that involved traveling between sets with no sleep for three days.
"4 yrs of #Roohi and my first solo dance number. I was such a kid. So nervous about this song. Hadn’t even learnt how to keep my eyes open without squinting under harsh lights Rehearsed for 3 days between Goodluck Jerry’s shoot, shot in Patiala all night for GLJ, flew out post pack up in the morning, shot Nadiyon Paar that night and finished the song in 7 hours with no sleep and flew back immediately to resume Jerry that day," Janhvi wrote.
She added, "A 3 day no sleep marathon, just excitement that I get to be in front of the ❤️"
She also shared a fun fact, revealing that her stunning outfit for the song was created in a day, thanks to designer Manish Malhotra. Janhvi also credited Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif as her inspiration for the look, mentioning that her hair, makeup, dance, and wardrobe were all influenced by Katrina's iconic style.
"Fun fact this outfit was made in one day after a last minute desperate call to my night in shining armour @manishmalhotra05 ❤️ Hair makeup dance wardrobe everything inspo was iconic @katrinakaif everything," she further captioned her post.
While Katrina has not reacted to her post yet, designer Manisha Malhotra wrote in the comments section, "Always there for you .. you were fantastic in the song," along with several red heart emoticons.
Roohi, a horror-comedy released in 2021, starred Janhvi alongside RajKummar Rao and Varun Sharma. Nadiyon Paar, a recreated version of the popular song Let the Music Play, became a hit, further establishing Janhvi as a rising star in Bollywood's dance space.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Janhvi will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opposite Varun Dhawan. She also has Param Sundari with Sidharth Malhotra in the pipeline.
