Mumbai: Mumbai Metro Line 1 will run additional services from Ghatkopar to Versova during peak hours. These shorter trips aim to reduce congestion during rush hour on Metro Line 1. Currently, the metro service operates from Ghatkopar to Versova, but the MMRDA has decided to add more service on this route from Ghatkopar to Andheri.
The shorter trips on Metro Line 1 will operate from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This initiative aims to provide a hassle-free commuting experience during peak hours.
According to reports from senior metro officials, "the trial run was conducted on March 6. More trials are planned to gather feedback from commuters." as per a report by The Indian Express. This decision was made considering that most of the crowd travels from Ghatkopar to Andheri.

To improve the commuter experience, the MMRDA now intends to add more services between Ghatkopar and Andheri. About 10 years ago, Metro Line 1 was popularly referred to as the Blue Line. The project, which runs from Versova to Ghatkopar, started in 2007 and went into operation on June 8, 2014.
