Agra: A man from Uttar Pradesh's Agra tried to end his life during a live Facebook video. In the video, the man blamed his 'chacha' (paternal uncle and 'chachi' (paternal aunt) for forcing him to take the extreme step. The incident took place on Sunday. He tried to end his life by handling from a ceiling fan. However, he was saved by the people who saw his Facebook live video.
Family dispute was reported to be the reason that instigated the man to take the extreme step. The man has been identified as Omi and he is a resident of Naai ki Mandi area of the district, reported Live Hindustan.
According to the report, Omi was having a dispute with his uncle and aunt. After reportedly having an argument with his wife, the man decided to end his life. At the time of the incident, he was alone in the room on the top floor of the house.
Omi's neighbours rushed to his house after watching his Facebook live. They woke up his family members and saved his life. Omi was then rushed to a hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment.
The Police took cognizance of the Facebook live video and launched an investigation into the matter. The police will reportedly question Omi's uncle and aunt after recording his statement.
Last month, a tech company employee died by suicide in Agra. Manav Sharma accused his wife of harassment. He was found hanging in his room on Monday, February 24. Moments before his death, Sharma recorded an emotional video of nearly seven minutes. In the video message, the man could be seen crying. He appealed to the society to "think and talk about men". Sharma also alleged that his wife was having an extramarital affair. He apologised to his parents for ending his life.
