Mahesh Gaikwad, a former leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Kalyan, allegedly received a threat letter from an unknown person during a pre-wedding ceremony in Ambernath recently.

According to the police, Gaikwad attended a pre-wedding event in the Anandnagar area of Ambernath, where an unidentified man handed him a letter. Since Gaikwad regularly receives letters from locals regarding basic complaints, he did not pay much attention to it.

However, on March 8 (Saturday), upon opening the letter, he discovered it contained a threat. Following this, he approached the Shivaji Nagar Police Station in Ambernath to file a complaint. The police have registered a non-cognizable (NC) offense against the unidentified person, and further investigation is underway.

ACP Shailesh Kale, Ambernath division, stated, "Based on the letter and complaint, we have filed an NC under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. We are conducting further investigations into the matter. The letter warned that one should not harass Ganpat Gaikwad and Vaibhav Gaikwad; otherwise, they would face dire consequences.

In response, Mahesh Gaikwad made a startling claim in the media, alleging that the letter was sent from jail and warned him against speaking out against Ganpat Gaikwad and Vaibhav Gaikwad, or he would face consequences similar to those of Baba Siddique.

Last year, Ganpat Gaikwad, a BJP legislator from Kalyan East, fired shots at Shiv Sena (Shinde) Kalyan East president Mahesh Gaikwad and his associate Rahul Patil inside the Hill Line Police Station in Ulhasnagar.
